Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS), an independent unit of Ton Duc Thang University, located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the first Finnish styled K-12 international school in Southeast Asia, is looking for top-line Finnish educators to work as Class Teachers, Subject Teachers and Special Needs Teachers (Grade 1 to 9) from the next school year 2020-2021.

Its inception started in 2015 and after 4 years of planning and preparation, VFIS was officially inaugurated in August 2019. As a Class Teacher Applicant: A good Master’s degree in educational science (or in specific subject education plus multidisciplinary studies taught in basic education grades 1-6) including pedagogical training;
As a Subject Teacher Applicant: A good Master’s degree, proven studies in the subject to be taught and proven pedagogical studies;
As Special Needs Teacher Applicant: A good Master’s degree in education with special needs pedagogy as the main subject (or with a teaching qualification including special needs teacher studies);
Solid and proven English language skills;
Passion for teaching overseas;
Strong work ethic and flexibility;
Strong pedagogical skills and competence;
Cultural adaptability;
At least two-year commitment to VFIS;

Class Teachers
Planning and implementing teaching according to the school curriculum and Finnish pedagogical approach with local adaptation
A customer-oriented approach according to the school guidelines
Continuous student assessment, follow-up and recording of student development
Student supervision
Participation in Professional Development programmes
Contribution to school development work
Weekly home-school communication with parents
Substitution
Any other duties allocated by the school administration
Subject Teachers
Planning and implementing teaching according to the school curriculum and Finnish pedagogical approach with local adaptation

Special Needs Education Teacher (SEN):
Supporting students in collaboration with teachers, learning assistants and parents
A customer-oriented approach according to the school guidelines
Implementing and supporting student testing according to school guidelines
Being active members in the Student Welfare Team
Contribution to school development work with a focus on SEN structures
Expertise in student admission through student testing and results analysis

Participation in Professional Development programmes
