Established in 1997 and located in vibrant Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s economic and educational hub, TDTU is proudly committed to Vietnam’s human development and sustainable growth into the 21st century.

Equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure, it allows for the consolidation of many academic disciplines. The University currently has 16 faculties, 50 research groups, 54 undergraduate and graduate programs with many interdisciplinary research opportunities. The University is focusing on high quality research, training and internationalization.

In 2015 TDTU has sought the approval of the Prime Minister of Vietnam to set up a one-of-a-kind K to 12 school on its main campus in Ho Chi Minh City. The main goal is to bring in the best global education model to Vietnam and to provide its students with high quality education to pursue international higher education and careers after their graduation. TDTU has selected Finland as the system of choice to support the school creation, to create a Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS).

The school will follow the Finnish education model and core curriculum with adaptations to the Vietnamese context. The VFIS learning environment will also reflect the best expertise and design from Finland.

The first academic year will start in Autumn 2019 with the Primary school (grade 1 to 5). The next following years, VFIS will have the Secondary and High school with the school maximum capacity of 2500 students.
