First time ever, Finnish education, especially Finnish early childhood education (ECE), will be introduced to Vietnamese educators through the cooperation of higher education institutions of Finland and Vietnam. National College for Education (NCE) is among the leading higher institutions in educating ECE teachers of Vietnam while the University of Turku (UTU) is an over-100-year-old Finnish university among the top 1% Universities in the world.
Two institutions are working with Wise Consulting Finland and edumate to organize learning workshops and short courses for Vietnamese ECE teachers, starting with a May workshop in May 2021.
The whole-day workshop will take place on 14 May 2021 on the campus of NCE in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, where they expect to host 300++ participants from all over Vietnam. The morning section will feature keynote speeches and discussions on the Finnish education system and how Finnish education has been implemented and adopted in Vietnam, what Vietnamese schools and kindergartens can learn from past experiences. In the afternoon, an in-depth lecture will be delivered by professors of the University of Turku, which is followed by a virtual meet-up with UTU kindergarten called Rauman Pikkunorssi.
Further details and registration for the May workshop to be found in this link (in Vietnamese).
Finnish education has been loved by many Vietnamese schools and teachers. Some have bravely made their own trip to find out the secrets of Finnish education. Now others can do it by not traveling faraway. Finnish education will be introduced thoroughly and lively through the lens of the Department of Education of the University of Turku, their teachers and students in their practice K-12 schools; and through the sharing of those who have concrete experiences in bringing Finnish education/pedagogy to Vietnam.
